Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Mexico City

Arrival at Mexico City Airport, transfer, and hotel accommodation.

Day 2: Mexico City / San Cristóbal de las Casas

Breakfast at the hotel (or packed, depending on flight schedule). Transfer to the airport and departure for Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the capital of Chiapas.

Upon arrival, transfer to Chiapa de Corzo for a boat excursion through the Sumidero Canyon, where, according to legend, in the 16th century, hundreds of indigenous people chose to jump off the cliffs rather than surrender to the Spanish.

Lunch at a traditional restaurant. Transfer to San Cristóbal de las Casas, a city founded by the Spanish in 1528 and the site of the Zapatista uprising in 1994. Hotel accommodation.

Day 3: San Cristóbal de las Casas

Breakfast at the hotel.

Visit to the indigenous communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán. San Juan Chamula is home to the largest Tzotzil indigenous group and a center of unique religious practices blending Christian and pre-Columbian traditions.

Explore San Cristóbal de las Casas, a charming colonial city with Plaza 31 de Marzo, the Municipal Palace, and the 16th-century Cathedral. Lunch at a restaurant and free afternoon. Accommodation.

Day 4: San Cristóbal de las Casas / Palenque

Early departure to Agua Azul Waterfalls. Breakfast in Ocosingo with panoramic valley views.

Visit the stunning Agua Azul waterfalls, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, with the opportunity to swim in its natural pools. Transfer to Palenque and hotel accommodation.

Day 5: Palenque / Campeche

Breakfast at the hotel.

Visit the Palenque archaeological site, a major Maya ceremonial center from the Classic period. Explore the Temple of the Inscriptions, housing the tomb of King Pakal, and the majestic Royal Palace.

Departure for Campeche, with a stop for lunch at a restaurant to enjoy the region’s excellent beef. Arrival and hotel accommodation.

Day 6: Campeche / Mérida

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure to Uxmal, one of Mexico’s most beautiful archaeological sites, known for its Puuc-style architecture. Visit the Nunnery Quadrangle, the Governor’s Palace, and the Pyramid of the Magician.

Lunch at a restaurant and transfer to Mérida. Brief city tour, including the Zócalo, the Cathedral, and the Government Palace. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 7: Mérida / Riviera Maya

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure to Chichén Itzá, the most important Maya-Toltec city in Yucatán. Visit El Castillo, the Temple of the Warriors, and the sacred cenote.

In the afternoon, transfer to the Riviera Maya. Dinner and hotel accommodation.

Day 8: Riviera Maya / Cancún

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Cancun Airport.
