Day 1: Mexico City
Arrival at Mexico City airport. Meeting with our driver, transfer, and hotel check-in. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Mexico City
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the Zócalo, one of the largest squares in the world, featuring the Metropolitan Cathedral (the largest in the Americas) and the National Palace, home to Diego Rivera’s murals.
Continue to Teotihuacán, the “city where men become gods,” sacred to the Aztecs. Visit the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon and the Temple of Quetzalcóatl. Buffet lunch at a restaurant. Return to Mexico City with a stop at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Mexico City / Oaxaca
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the National Museum of Anthropology, which houses artifacts and art from pre-Columbian civilizations.
Then, explore Coyoacán, a charming neighborhood with cobblestone streets, plazas, gardens, and museums. Visit the Frida Kahlo House-Museum at the “Casa Azul.” Lunch at a restaurant and transfer to the airport for a flight to Oaxaca. Upon arrival, transfer and check-in at the hotel.
Day 4: Oaxaca
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Monte Albán, the ancient Zapotec capital situated on a mountaintop overlooking Oaxaca.
Tour the historic center of Oaxaca, with its colonial architecture and charming streets. Lunch at a restaurant in the main square. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 5: Oaxaca / Teotitlán del Valle / Mitla / Tehuantepec
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the village of Teotitlán del Valle, famous for its handcrafted textiles and rugs.
Continue to the archaeological site of Mitla, known for its intricate stone mosaics. Lunch at a restaurant and transfer to Tehuantepec. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 6: Tehuantepec / Sumidero Canyon / San Cristóbal de las Casas
Early breakfast. Departure to Cahuaré, the starting point for a boat tour of the Sumidero Canyon, where in the 16th century, hundreds of indigenous people preferred to jump off the cliffs rather than surrender to the Spanish.
Buffet lunch at a restaurant. Transfer to San Cristóbal de las Casas, a colonial city and the center of the 1994 Zapatista movement. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 7: San Cristóbal de las Casas
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the indigenous communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán, where Christian and pre-Hispanic traditions blend.
Return to San Cristóbal, explore its historic center, Plaza 31 de Marzo, the Municipal Palace, and the Cathedral. Lunch at a restaurant and free afternoon. Overnight stay.
Day 8: San Cristóbal de las Casas / Palenque
Early departure to Agua Azul Waterfalls. Breakfast in Ocosingo with views of the valley.
Visit and opportunity to swim in the natural pools of Agua Azul. Continue to Palenque. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 9: Palenque / Campeche
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the archaeological site of Palenque, a Maya Classic Period gem, featuring the Temple of the Inscriptions and the Royal Palace.
Departure to Campeche, with lunch at a restaurant to taste local meat specialties. Arrival and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 10: Campeche / Mérida
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Uxmal, one of the most beautiful Maya cities, famous for its Puuc-style architecture.
Tour the Nunnery Quadrangle, the Governor’s Palace, and the Pyramid of the Magician. Lunch at a restaurant and transfer to Mérida. Brief city tour and overnight stay.
Day 11: Mérida / Riviera Maya
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Chichén Itzá, the most important Maya-Toltec city in Yucatán.
Visit El Castillo, the Temple of the Warriors, and the sacred cenote. In the afternoon, transfer to the Riviera Maya. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 12: Riviera Maya / Cancun
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Cancun airport.
