Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Cancun

Arrival at Cancun International Airport, transfer and hotel accommodation. Overnight stay.

Day 2: Cancun/Bacalar Lagoon

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, departure for Tulum. Visit the only fortified Mayan city by the sea, Tulum stands on a rocky promontory overlooking a white beach lapped by the Caribbean Sea. The most famous temple is the Templo de las Pinturas with elaborate decorations and frescoes that are unfortunately almost no longer visible. Continue towards Bacalar, a small town on the shores of a wonderful lagoon called the 7-color lagoon, for the shades of blue it offers. It is a naturalistic oasis where you can practice countless naturalistic and aquatic activities. Overnight stay.

Day 3: Bacalar Lagoon/Chicanná

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, a boat excursion will be made to admire the fantastic colors of the lagoon. At the end, transfer to Chicanná and visit the archaeological site, considered a small elite center, for the rich decorations that adorn its buildings. At the end, transfer to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chicanná/Campeche

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure for a visit to the archaeological areas of Becan and Balankú. At the end, departure for Campeche, an ancient colonial port, along the way, stop and lunch at a restaurant where you can taste excellent regional meat. Arrival and hotel accommodation. Overnight stay.

Day 5: Campeche/Mérida

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Uxmal and visit to the archaeological area considered one of the most beautiful in Mexico. Uxmal’s charm is enhanced by its location in the hilly region of Puuc, which means “hills,” the only elevations on an almost completely flat peninsula. Of particular interest are the Nunnery Quadrangle, the Governor’s Palace, and the Pyramid of the Magician. Lunch at a restaurant. At the end, continue to Mérida and a short city tour. A grid of streets, perpendicular to each other, forms the oldest part of the city. At the center is the Plaza Mayor, tree-lined and with a gazebo in the center for Sunday afternoon musical concerts. The Government Palace, the Cathedral, the Municipal Palace, and Casa Montejo overlook the square. At the end, hotel accommodation. Overnight stay.

Day 6: Mérida/Riviera Maya

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards Chichén-Itzá. Along the way, a short stop to visit a typical Mayan cemetery. Continue to Chichen Itzá and visit the largest archaeological area of the Yucatán belonging to the Maya-Toltec culture. This center was the most important city of the Yucatán from the 11th to the 13th century. The most important buildings are El Castillo, the Ball Court, the Temple of the Warriors, and the cenote, or sacred well where human sacrifices took place. The majesty and grandeur of Chichén-Itzá are unforgettable. A place that exudes the charm of the bloody Mayan history. In the afternoon, continue to the Riviera Maya and hotel accommodation. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.

Day 7: Riviera Maya/Cancun

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Cancun airport.
